Munem Wasif is a documentary photographer based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Born in 1983. Having graduated from Pathshala - South Asian Institute of Photography, Wasif started off on his career as staff photographer for Daily Star, a leading daily of Bangladesh. Now he works with DrikNEWS (International news photo agency) as a staff photographer and with Visavis.pl (a Polish agency).

Wasif’s prime arena of interest revolves around political documentaries. Among, his ongoing projects, ‘Old Dhaka’, ‘Jute mill workers’ and ‘Violence against women’ are worth mentioning. Photographs published in le monde, Himal Southasian, Asian Geographic, Issue magazine, Zonezero, pdfx12, Daily star, Daily new age (slate), Daily shomokal etc. In 2007 he became he is selected for the World Press Photo Joop Swart Masterclass in the Netherlands. He won first prize in Polish press photo contest with tea garden work in contemporary issue. He also won two bronze in china international press photo in daily life and arts and entertainment category. His work exhibited in twice in Chobi Mela (Asian photography festival). He also exhibited his work in Fabryka Trzciny (Warsow, 14 Otwocka) organised by Artinfo.pl Gallery.
