Profile 3.0 (2/11/09).

Reall, I'm just a guy taking pictures. I'm a Canadian living in Seattle - I've been here since September 2008, and had been living in San Francisco since 2001. I began shooting in 2007 after purchasing a Nikon D40 and opted to begin shooting large format (4x5 film) in 2008. Now in 2009 I've added a Nikon D90 to my arsenal - not that this is all tremendously important, but people tend to be curious. Here's a rough overview of what's in my 'kit' these days:

-Nikon D90
-Nikon 50mm f/1.8
-Nikon 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 AFS VR II (11x zoom)
-Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 HSM (ultrawide zoom)
-Tachihara 4x5 Field Camera
-Schneider 90mm f/8 Super-Angulon
-Caltar 150mm f/5.6
-Caltar 210mm f/6.1
-Manfrotto 190 CXB Tripod Legs
-Manfrotto 486 RC2 Ball Head
...plus Fuji Provia & Velvia, Kodak TMAX, HiTech ND Grads and lots of odds & ends

I really enjoy posting in the Flickr community for its inspiration, feedback, and just for being a great place to share images and other updates with friends and family. I recently decided to augment my flickr stream with a personal website, at www.tylerwestcott.com - and you can reach me with any inquiries either through flickr mail or by emailing me at tylerwestcott.com@gmail.com - though I apologize in advance for often falling behind on responses.

Thanks for stopping by to see my shots, maybe add a comment, or adding me as a contact. I've
Also, I try to recover a little bit of my cost by making some of my shots available for purchase through imagekind.com. They do a wonderful job and produce really high quality prints, which also means they're not particularly cheap. If you're interested click below, or if you would like to see something added from here let me know.

"Not only do I really like Tyler as a person and fellow photowalker, his photos always make me jealous of wherever he is and whatever he is doing. His shots from San Francisco are definitely some of the best on Flickr, showing the romance and beauty of a city I love deeply. His travel shots are inspiring and fascinating, providing an excellent tour of amazing places. He has a very unique eye, and his photos stand out in the crowd every time. I always look forward to his posts, even if I'm totally green with envy that he got to see something so awesome and I didn't. :-)

Thanks for sharing, Tyler! Keep up the good work!"

"This guy is incredible! He learns and evolves so fast that I hardly keep up with all the good stuff he throws out. His photostream is awesome and inspiring. On top of that, he is very helpfull with the comments on my photos, for which I thank him deeply. Great friend.

May the light be with you. :]"

"Mumbley only got his digital SLR a few months ago, but you wouldn't know it by looking at his photos. He's got the eye and the patience, and he's been careful not to fall in the mold of the San Francisco photography that we're all used to. His night photography skills are amazing, and he loves to play with panoramas. He's the first resource I'd go to with a technical question. I always get a thrill from his photos, whether he's out and about in one city or another or setting up a tripod near the ocean.

And he can make a mean spreadsheet..."
