The Muirshin Durkins play traditional Irish drinking songs and ballads, as well as the occasional cover by modern Irish artists like the Pogues, Van Morrison, Sinead O'Connor, and others.

We play songs that will make you feel like having a beer, then having six more, then feeling a little maudlin, then feeling like getting on a plane at midnight to go to Ireland, and then deciding against it and putting your arm around the guy next to you at the bar and singing along at the top of your lungs.

In short, we want you to have a terrific time listening to songs that have come from an ancient and rousing musical tradition, and that you'll either recognize or learn to love the first time you hear them.

We play regularly on Sunday afternoons at The Grey Hound Pub in Worcester's Kelley Square, but are available for bars, parties, and anywhere else people want to relax, have a great time, and listen to fun traditional music.

The Durkins began as the side project of Jim Lang, piano (and tin whistle) player for the Worcester roots band Hat On, Drinking Wine.
