I'm a stay-at-home-mom to one son and a human mom to my rescue dachshund, Barney. I make jewelry as often as I can and have a little shop on Etsy. Lots of late nights and coffee here!

I'm originally from the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of northwest North Carolina. That's where my heart belongs. I feel displaced living in the city of Charlotte although I've been here for two decades now. I think of it as where I stay when I'm not 'home' in my mountains.

I have had my Nikon D3100 for about a year now, and realize I have a long way to go to becoming proficient at photography. I have the Nikkor 18-55mm kit lens, a Nikkor 55-300mm, and a Tamron 60mm f 2.0 macro lens. I still use my Canon S5IS frequently as well as my old faithful Olympus C-3020 that I got after my son was born in 2002. Sometimes oldies are still goodies.

My son and dachshund are certainly among my most favorite subjects, but due to some weirdos here on Flickr a lot of my son's pics can only be seen by friends and family. I take jewelry shots regularly, but love to photograph every day things as well: all things in nature, critters, clouds, sunsets, flowers, food, old houses, musical instruments, people, you name it! Everything is fair game for capturing.
