mr moor's photostream
|
My partner and I were tired of living in the big city and wanted to move into the country, space, peace and quiet were number one on our list. After searching for two years all over Holland we found a house in Friesland. The house is situated in the middle of an acre of land devided into two pastures on either side, one for keeping animals and the other for developing a spacious garden. We decided to give it a try and never regretted it.
We arrived in 2001 with two cats but soon a third stray cat showed up on our driveway and seemed to feel quite at home on our land, so much even that it looked like he belonged there. We decided to adopt him although the truth is he adopted us.
Foppe walked into our lives and the rest is history!
Thanks for taking an interest in my photos and the stories of Foppe's Acre.

If you add me to your contacts and I don't return the favor it probably has nothing to do with you. It's just that I like to keep my contacts to a managable amount.
From time to time I feel the need to thin my contact list If I see that you are not taking the time to visit and comment on my photo's. Please don't be offended if I call in a time-out...it's nothing personal.
I'm always happy with your comments and will try my best to react on them. Please keep this stream clean and don't add group invitations or pictures to your comments (apart from our Furry and Feathery Firday Cafe).
Thank you.

"Although Peter already has so many testimonials, and well deserved, i want to add one more, and should have done a long time ago. When i first joined the flickr he was always there with a friendly comment or an invite to a group, the friendliest flickr member around. He is the person who's comments i always await, and they always make me smile. A fantastic person with a beautiful soul, and an excellent photographer. I find myself lost in the land of Foppe's Acre always looking forward to another visit to see the daily going on in Peters world with all his amazing animals and people ; ) . A fantastic friend, you should all take a look through his lens"

"What more can be said? Mr Moor once was a digital creature who behaved in a very human way. Even more human than many of the others. Always taking time to really look at my photos and making a sensible or simply witty comment. He felt familiar to me, close, as if he'd always been around in my life.
One day, my friend and I got the chance to meet Peter and his beloved creatures in person. It was wonderful and more than confirmed how I'd felt before. Peter is a warm hearted, sensitive person with tremendous eye and love for nature's small surprises. He knows very well how to capture those in image and text (!), always warm, often humorous and share them with the rest of the world.
Thank you Peter!"3rd November, 2007

"Peter is far more than just a Flickr member and great photographer! He's the creator, curator, manager, and owner of Foppe's Acre...a real life, down to earth piece of land in The Netherlands, which might otherwise be ordinary without Peter's photos and stories. When reading his descriptions of daily events and conditions with each post, you'll feel like you're sitting there with him in the kitchen on a sunny afternoon, having a cup of coffee or tea, talking about the day's activity.
The quality of Peter's photos is top notch! Technically well done and creatively composed. Each one is usually accompanied by a colorful description of a time and place on Foppe's Acre. You'll get the history, the entertainment, and some education, too! When you browse through his stream. you're guaranteed to get Moor!
Most of all, Peter is a great person with a love for life, and the creative skills to bring his world to us through his images...and I'm Moor than glad to have him as one of my contacts and friends!"22nd September, 2007

"Mr. Moor's photostream is like a documentation; a documentation of the life on Foppe's Acre.He tells stories with his camera about what's going on and he goes through the seasons with his visitors;
his photos are always taken with love and gratefulness; sometimes it occurs to me that there is also humbleness and amazement for the wonders of nature in the description of his photos.....
He presents us all the inhabitants of Foppe's Acre and in the meantime I am really familar with them...
He never goes out without his camera, even when there is work to do ; his photos are very well composed and I tell you, there are really some outstanding masterpieces in his stream!!!
He lived in the city before and moved to the countryside and his photos express, that he doesn't regret this step; in my opinion he and his partner deserved their "paradise",because they really appreciate it !!
So please go for an excursion to Foppe's Acre, you will enjoy every single visit!!"19th June, 2007

Kortom: geniet mee!
De photo's of Mr Moor are telling a touching story of his life at 'Foppe's acre'. With his sharp eye for detail, his obvious love for human beings, animals and nature that shows in every photo, he sees to it that you'll come back to enjoy! His photo's often lead to a smile, but just as many times to respect over the composition, the colours and his eye for detail. What's more: in the comments he leaves at other people's work occurs his warm interest in his fellow man. In brief: enjoy it with me!"16th February, 2007

"As a newbie to Flickr, I am still learning the ropes. I have made many contacts and appreciate all of them. However, Mr Moor stands out among these contacts. He has commented so kindly on many of my photos and made me feel truly welcome and as if I belong. Although my photos are not even close to being of professional quality (yet), Mr Moor has expressed interest in not only my photos but also the life that I live. He goes beyond simply commenting on your photos and makes you really feel that you have gained a new friend."

"This testimonial is long long overdue........
This person that we all love and care so much about "Mr. Moor"......but Peter to most of us is one in a million.
He has touched all of our hearts through his loving, caring and deep compassion, not only for all of his own critters living on Foppe's Acre....but for our own as well.
If we are having a difficult situation or time in our life....Peter's heart feels it too. We could all only hope to have someone in our life like Peter.
This testimonial could be pages and pages long with animal names, caring compassionate examples of stories about Peter....but I will not do that to him. Trust me....we all who know Peter.....know exactly what I mean.
When Mr. and Mrs. Moor created Peter....they threw away the mold. Oh yes, and Mrs. Moor......his Mama is so cute. Check her out on his photostream.
I could go on and on but I do not want to make Peter blush.......although it always makes us smile when he does blush. For then.. we know that so many people.. have come to realize what a very special man he truly is.
I am very proud to call Peter my "very best friend" on flickr......"22nd November, 2006
