discovering me through my photography.

I'm still in awe of the natural world around us, marvel at man's architectural creations, and am intrigued by human emotions.
...ohh, and i LOVE automobiles, things mechanical and OLD stuff......annndd MUSIC!!!!!

I am not an educated man but I know what I know, I hear what I hear and I see what I see and when the time is the time I say what I say. (RedDread)

I try not to take this too serious, just having fun.
I'm no professional, I just LOVE taking pictures and seeing if i can "capture" what it is that i see (or want to see).

I'm not super big on overly manipulated or processed photos (kind of gets away from what pure photography is all about). that said, I do touch up some of my pics here and there, and i can see & appreciate the art in those who do work in that style!

- it all started for me when i was young and was given a Kodak 110 Instamatic w/ built in slide-in-place tele-photo lens i actually bought a dedicated flash for it (it used flash bulbs).

- graduated to a used (from a friend) no prgram Ricoh SLR 35mm w/ 3 fixed focal length ( wide, normal, tele) interchangeable lenses, and external flash.

-bought Ricoh KR30sp 35mm SLR and a Kiron 28-210mm tele-zoom lens, Sunpak external flash (dead) mid- 80's

- bought Canon G5 compact digital in 2004-05 to step into the world of digital photography - currently being used by my daughter.

- as of August 2010 am currently using Canon EOS Rebel XSi 450D DSLR w/ EFS 18-55mm is lens / hoping to add my old Kiron 28-210mm lens anyday now.

- Kiron now added.(received $12.02 lens adaptor, BEST twelve dollars i've EVER spent!)

Today, is a good day...

I would hope that it goes w/o saying but just in case: do NOT use any of my photos w/o my permission.....i"ve a very hungry lawyer. if you really like something or would like to use one for a purpose, just ask -- i'll probably just give it to ya!

that said all are welcome to view and appreciate. oh course comments are welcome.and feel free to favorite.

i try to respond to comments in a timely manner, but you know....

i DO check out the photostreams of those who have visited, especially if you take the time to comment on mine (not just copy and paste an award). as all probably know, it is sometimes difficult to keep up with the commenting process. i don't feel a NEED to comment on every picture that someone puts up on their stream. (nor do i think it is necessary for others to do such for mine). i try to float through everybody's steam from time to time....if i see something that stirs me i comment. if i don't, please don't feel unappreciated....the one thing i've learned here is you never know what is going to appeal to whom. and to gain comments should NOT be the reason for taking a photo. it should be that you felt something that you saw and wanted to capture it.

if i make you a contact it's usually because i found a common interest, style or some other thing that catches my eye.....or the complete opposite -- a style very unlike my own that i appreciate. or say from another locale with views of your world that i'll probably never see. if i don't make you a contact don't be offended --- everybody is not into everything.

i don't typically thank for favoriting so I'll give one huge group thank you here...THANKS to ALL WHO'VE favorited my pics, and to THOSE WHO WILL in THE FUTURE!!
