I'm by no means a professional photographer. I do have a professional camera + a big passion for the art of photography. With these two together, I manage to capture a (what I call a) beautiful picture every now and then.

Since March 2010 I own a NIKON D700, a camera I dreamed of for years. In Feb 2011 I added to my gear the latest standard zoom from NIKKOR: the 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VRII. In July 2011 I have added the most advanced flash unit from Nikon, the Speedlight SB-900.

My gear currently consists of:

* Nikon Φ52mm NC filter for the 50mm prime lens;
* Nikon Φ77mm Circular Polarizer II filter for the 28-300mm lens;
* Φ77mm UV filter ;
* Φ77mm FLD ( Fluorescent light correction ) filter .
* Zeikos 75" Professional Tripod (I'm a tall guy and that's why I went for a 75" tripod);
* Lowepro Fastpack 350 to carry my gear.


I am discovering another side of me through photography -- I am exploring a different view of the world I'm in through photography. Although my photostream is poor related to people I've seen, I've admired and shown my appreciation on their work, I do try to do my best.

I've decided not to be a random shooter anymore, but instead, with each picture I frame through my viewfinder -- to try to catch the soul of the moment. To try to say something with my pictures, to make the saying "One picture equals 1000 words" true.

Never studied photography as art before, never actually -- it is going to be a side project of mine, perhaps sooner than I expect. I've been studying optics and camera mechanics like crazy, I know (almost) everything I need to on how to operate the camera. When I shoot, I am not following any principles or composition rules. I try to get the capture as an expression of what I feel for the moment. That's why I am always open for critique, (as a way to learn) and your remarks are always valuable.
