Photography has always been a preferred artistic outlet for me: capturing a moment, detailing a thought. The rest just comes later.
Or put another way...
It was one of those days when it's a minute away from snowing. And there's this electricity in the air, you can almost hear it, right? And this bag was just... dancing with me. Like a little kid begging me to play with it. For fifteen minutes. That's the day I realized that there was this entire life behind things, and this incredibly benevolent force that wanted me to know there was no reason to be afraid. Ever.
A beat.
Video's a poor excuse, I know. But it helps me remember... I need to remember...
As my good friend Leslie/dogfaceboy puts it: "We create because we are compelled. We choose our subjects because they fascinate us. We share because we don't want to feel alone."

20-May-2009 - Since I am now paying for the privilege and the bugginess of uploadr has mostly been removed, I've brought back just about everything - have fun, enjoy.
15-Feb-2009 - The launch of my personal websites took place on this date. Come visit - lots to see...

30-Dec-2008 - Composites are all back now. Have fun.
22-Dec-2008 - I dumped over five thousand images today. It all began when I looked at a photograph, liked what I saw and didn't realize to later that I had actually taken the damn thing myself. I couldn't remember my own work. So in preparation for the new year, I dumped everything but the last two months; I'm starting over come January 1st., in a continuing effort to produce things of quality, not quantity. If that upsets you or you went looking for a particular image and couldn't find it, let me know and I'll see what I can do.
01-Nov-2008 - Having struggled with why I upload photos/images/videos to flickr I've taken an hiatus for the month of November. I will be back - with what I have no idea, but I will be back. Once I can answer those questions that plague all of us trying to make something out a fleeting moment in time I will be contributing again. See you December 1st.
13-Mar-2008 - Have brought all the rock and roll pictures back "home" - managing a second flickr site is too much of a pain the arse, so bringing them back here made the most sense. Have fun...
14-Nov-2007 - Had to dump and re-load all of the "picture a day" shots - which means all the clever captions/comments, et al have disappeared as well. (crap) C'est la vie; c'est la guerre. They are now in "monthly" sets - a little better organized, I suppose.

Justin Craigen says:
"Photography is the art & science of expressing the joy & despair of the human condition through the manipulation of light. David is an indie master of his craft, both a maestro and a doctor.
And he's not a pretentious wanker, either. Rare breed."26th March, 2008

photopatois says:
"David Anjo has mastered a palette that runs somehow from classic B-W-greys to taupes to earth colors, and he runs it like a six-speed car around a rare rivulet of blood red. And it's always real blood, too.
He does a lot of warped pantograph sleight of hand around Golden Mean composition by messing with angles. His arcs arc, and are not always fastened or grounded at both ends.
He hunts and photographs isolation, despair, and an intellect that keeps very good company with itself through absorbtion in all the cool ideas and stuff of the world. His images are just a little overwound to keep them humming with tension.
His stream; it's not a relaxing tour, but it's not punching sheetrock, either. It hangs somewhere between, and that's the thing, isn't it?"25th February, 2008
