I'm a freelance commercial, sports, travel and adventure photographer who occasionally handles the odd portrait session or two.

I mostly shoot digital these days. It's convenient, but doesn't compare to a roll of Provia on the light box. As a matter of fact, while I rarely shoot 35mm film anymore, I enjoy shooting medium format 120mm film, using a Pentax 645N. Although, I've largely moved away from shooting color film, I have found a new interest in processing my own B&W film. B&W processing is almost as much an art as photography itself, and quite fun to experiment with. Occasionally I still run a roll of 120mm Provia through the camera, and I somewhat strangely prefer the look to digital.

As you can tell from my photo stream, I spend most of my time in the mountains, cataloging my adventures and capturing images of the things I love.

Paddling, climbing, biking, mountaineering, backpacking and hiking are a few of the things I love to do.

I mostly shoot Pentax film and digital. I also shoot Nikon from time to time for my sports and action needs.

My preference for Pentax is the unbelievably compact and rugged cameras and lenses they produce, as well as producing some of the best glass dollar for dollar. While Canon and Nikon are great cameras for action photographers, the quality Limited (and non Limited) primes that Pentax produces are more on par with Zeiss and Leica. Oh, and they make a few good weather sealed zooms too ;-)...

Feel free to live vicariously through the lens of my camera, and enjoy the wild places.
