We've undergone a year of massive change. Beginning in September of 2008, we suffered a layoff at the hands of a declining economy. After nearly five months of struggling sequestered in our home, we were finally able to find work. The only fly in the ointment was that work would bring us from Pennsylvania to Washington D.C.

For the first time we would be living apart from family and friends. The transition was swift and soon we came to call Alexandria, VA home. The new job builds embassies around the world and we knew the possibility to work abroad existed. What we didn't know was how soon opportunity would knock.

In September of 2009, one year from the beginning of our roller coaster, we found ourselves on the other side of the world. This stream chronicles our lives from the early days of two under two to the harried days with a set of rambunctious toddlers to international living in Bucharest, Romania.

Life has been unexpected but our home is wherever we land. Whether you know us as family, friends or as a passing internet acquaintance we hope you enjoy sharing with us this next leg of our journey.
