I own an old-school, 35 mm Nikon FA (SLR); a Canon A570IS digital camera; a Canon SD1300IS; and a low-end Hewlett Packard digital point-and-shoot. I actually have a degree in Film Studies (i.e. motion picture film), but I'm new to digital photography and I'm still learning how to use this relatively new technology. It's not so different from film-based photography, though. It's like using a new film stock.

I should also mention that I’m not a professional photographer, in any sense of the word. I really enjoy still photography (and I have some formal training in it) but it’s basically just a hobby for me. My biggest passion is writing, including screenwriting and script editing. I've edited a number of feature-length screenplays, including two that have been produced as independent films. I've also studied some art theory and art history, if that means anything to you... But it probably shouldn't. ;-)

By the way, most of my photos are on private mode. If you want to see them, you'll have to get to know me a little bit... and/or buy me dinner. ;-)

Thanks for checking out my profile. :-)

Cheers,
Mote

P.S. When it comes to photography, I try to follow filmmaker Sam Peckinpah's philosophy: "If it moves, shoot it!" ;-)

Note: I just want to state here that I do not give anyone permission to use any of my images without my explicit consent. Hopefully that goes without saying. If you really want to use one of my photos for something, please contact me (via Flickr) and we can discuss it. Thanks.
