LA FOTOGRAFÍA nunca ha sido para mí una afición, sino algo necesario. Un medio que pone en funcionamiento mecanismos de atención sobre lo que me rodea.
Intento convertir cada fotograma en una historia, historias que me generen una emoción. El producto sería una especie de album de biocromos de mi entorno, con paradojas, analogías, convergencias, perspectivas reversibles, juegos de partículas que difunden la luz. Todo cabe siempre que me produzca esa emoción en la que no hay nada que describir. Tan sólo sentir.
Esto ocurre al centrarme en lo que llama mi atención, obviando el resto y acechando hasta encontrar el ángulo adecuado, el punto de vista óptimo.
Cuando salgo a hacer fotografías por cualquier ciudad, por cualquier lugar, sólo sigo la luz. La sigo por los vericuetos donde caprichosamente se filtra. A menudo, el objeto retratado pasa a un segundo plano. Es su iluminación la que me guía por extrarradios, periferias urbanas donde sorprendentemente los objetos menos agraciados se transforman en algo emocionante.

PHOTOGRAPHY has never been a hobby for me, but instead a necessity. A medium that sets in motion processes of awareness about everything around me.
I try to build a story out of every photogram, stories that spark an emotion. The result would be a sort of scrapbook filled with 'biostamps' of my environment, with paradoxes, analogies, convergences, reversible perspectives, sets of light-diffusing particles. Anything goes as long as it awakes in me that emotion which doesn't lend itself to description. Only to feeling. This happens when I focus on whatever gets my attention, discarding the rest and lurking until I find the right angle, the optimum point of view.
When I go out to take photos in any city, anywhere, I just follow the light. I follow it through every rough path it fancies to leak out on. Often the depicted subject is pushed into the background. Its lighting is what drives me through suburbs, urban peripheries where, surprisingly, the least beautiful objects transform into something thrilling.
