Passionate about arts since I was very young, I have studied it in my O and A levels and currently am doing my bachelors in Fine Arts at the National College of Arts Rawalpindi (there's a whole set on it on my photostream). I started taking interest in photography about 7 years ago (the last years of film camera and early years of digital camera). It has since then been my hobby and biggest passion above everything. As of this year I have started doing it on a professional scale.

I'm a patriot and most of my photographs are to show my country Pakistan in good light, to show that my country's not about terrorism as it has been portrayed in media, but it has a genuine and a beautiful people and an amazing diversity in cultures. I don't limit myself to photographing models or good-looking people (in fact I rarely photograph them) but also photograph the poorest people. My photos are to show the people the subject's inner beauty.

Apart from that I'm a traveller, and I make short films too. Some of my video work will be seen on flickr very soon. I'm also a musician and I play as a sessionist bassist for some bands.

I use the following softwares for editing:
Adobe Photoshop CS3
Adobe Photoshop 7.0
Picasa 3.0

I have been asked as to how and why I edit my photos:

1) Most of my editing is limited to adjusting levels, framing, and cleaning lens dust and smear.

2) As a fine arts student, I see photographing and post processing as different forms of art

3) When I photograph anything, a subject, landscape, an incident or anything, with my own eyes I see it coming out beautifully and sometimes the camera tends to lose details and the original tone and stuff like that.. So I edit that particular photo to give it the original vision or to modify it in such a way that I envisioned it when taking the photograph.

I also do filmmaking and at the moment I'm trying to produce a few short films. I use the following for this part of my job:

1) DV camera- HVR -FX7 1080 60i NTSC
2) Video editing software- Final Cut Pro 6 and Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0
