My name is Megan Richards and I am going to school to be a photographer. I want to travel the world taking photographs and making an impact with my art.

To discover and capture one moment forever is what draws me to take photographs. A person cannot walk into a store, look at a magazine, or take a drive without witnessing art in the form of photography. Art in any medium has the ability to stir emotion and guide people to see. As an aspiring photographer, I try to take photographs that evoke thoughts and different responses. I want each and every person to think something different about the photographs that I take; maybe they will see something in them that I don’t.


Photographer John Sexton wrote, “A good photograph should elicit a response that remains with the viewer either consciously or subconsciously. Photographs can sooth and reveal beauty…can disturb and question…can anger and incite….I think a good photograph reveals not only what is in front of the camera—the subject, but also what is behind the camera—the photographer.”
