I’m originally from Port-au-Prince, Haiti and although I have lived in the US half my life, sometimes I still feel like I just got here. I just learned what Salt Water Taffy is!! When I first arrived to this country I lived in New York. And then my family moved to Florida. Central Florida, with its slow swaying way of life, was more culturally shocking to me than New York. Love the city, love the people.

I now live in Washington DC because one must have a job to pay for one’s own room where one, that is I, intend to write. That is the ambition. Other ambitions include traveling wide and far. I like to know what people say when they are at home and study places from the inside. Traveling, to me, is one of the best ways to get that education. The other is talking to people. Everyone is a deep font of interesting stuff!

I’ve been to England, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, Turkey, Greece, France, Argentina, Mexico, Cuba, Canada but it does not feel like that much travel. I have swift feet and am ever so curious. I speak Creole, French, and Spanish and right now I’m crushing on Arabic and Italian. Chinese also looks interesting. China looks interesting.

My greatest achievement so far in life was getting someone else to pay for college. I could not afford any of it. Many thanks to The Times! I now work for the company that organizes the New Yorker-parodied European Talent extravanganza, Eurovision Song Contest. It’s also a European news agency. I sometimes blog over at The Huffington Post.

I make more sense when I am writing and talking so my days are filled with notes and books and jokes and so is this blog. The blog is a celebration of the beautiful things that make life sweeter. I write about style, culture&art, and peace of mind.

I like to keep busy. Otherwise my mind will trick me and lapse into all kinds of loops.

And, what else? I sincerely believe that this life is conspiring to us good. Just gotta work with it! Give your best, get the best!
