Flirted with photography as a hobby on and off for years...having a quality digital SLR has opened everything up. Lenses, no worries about film (or processing)... plus I have beautiful models available all the time—my girls.
My primary camera is a Nikon D80. Initially I was exclusively using an old 28-80mm zoom from my 35mm Nikon. My next lens was a 50mm f/1.8. Best hundred bucks I ever spent. Highly recommended. Since then I've swapped a few other lenses in and out and currently in love with my new (old) 35-70mm f/2.8. An older pro Nikkor, and the difference with this quality glass is amazing. It pays to spend some time on Ebay, folks.
