Self taught .Discovered a reawakened interest in art after retirement.. Art has now developed into a passion. I mainly work in watercolour and ink and wash but still love drawing and rendering in pencil. I have painted with Alvaro Castagnet and Don Glynn. I learnt much about trying to simplify a subject and paint loosely leaving some details out to enable the viewer to complete the composition. Seldom comes off but the struggle to improve is all part of the joy. My first love is to go out with my sketchbook ,pens and paints and paint plein air. I think that the results are far more vibrant and exciting than work done from photographs. When I can't get out to paint I work from photos I have taken and sketches I have made.
Work has been selected for exhibition at the Ferrens Art Gallery City of Hull (Spring 2009)
Work is exhibited in an Art Gallery in Filey North Yorks.
