LOOKING THROUGH THE LENS

Photography has been an almost inherent quality of myself since I was young. Capturing the wonder and amazement that I feel about the Earth is what drives me each time to reach for a camera.

I take photos with both film & digital cameras. They range from point & shoot up to SLR, and from decades old to almost new. These images are rarely, if ever, edited or cropped.

You'll find my photographs are taken on several continents where I have voyaged & lived for fun, study, & farming.

WORKING THE LAND

Born and raised in Norwich, Vermont on an old diary farm, I awakened to my passion for the land while attending Connecticut College. While working toward a BA in Environmental Studies, I headed Sprout!, the sustainable food initiative and organic garden, and worked on several other projects including a campus-wide composting system.

I've had the opportunity to farm in several foreign countries including Costa Rica & France, in New England and now in San Diego, California, where I currently reside with my partner-poet, Taylor Mardis Katz.

Here in San Diego, I split my time between Suzie's Farm, a 70-acre organic farm, and Wild Willow Farm & Education Center, both located in the Tijuana River Valley, a stone's throw north of the border with Mexico.

Microcosmic dreamscapes are what I see. This is my life.
