Things have changed drastically in the last 6 months and i address these things every day.
This is kind of my holiday message, with the variety of things that are happening. Moved last week; don't like it but had to do it. Two of my 63 year old buddies came to town so we had 3 63 year olds and an older woman [mike's wife who outworked us all].
We rented a truck. Not a bad move with the first paragraph ignored. but we participated. When mike dropped the refrigerator on billy we knew it would be a tough day. When Bill pushed me off the truck [he says he didn't but...] with 5 boxes we took time to see we had done nothing really in almost 3 hours.
The team trucked the crap down and as we unloaded the antiques, things went well until i tripped over the dog and fell down 14 steps [the dog was fine and did not fall].
With the move threatening to destroy 90 plus years of friendship or what passes for it in my world, I called in a mover to Finish, or Swedish up here.
As we relaxed in a restaurant where I have been eating a great deal over the last 6 months [no fun to cook for myself], things were starting to slow down as I introduced the players to the people of the restaurant.
That's how much I have been eating there. I even know the schedule; but because I order food, I am technically not a stalker.
We chatted, laughed, and talked a bit louder than we should have. As the waitress, server, wait person, or Susan [whatever you want to call her] came over to ask about refills, I mistakenly took her picture in violation of a standing request. [Mistaken by what is to follow]. If you saw this young lady you would know why I wanted a photo of her. She is simply fantastic, with a great personality to boot.
Now my thinking was a cute little candid, no nasty or provocative shot of any kind. Susan noticed [I didn't try to hide it] and politely asked me to remove the photo. What she actually said was, "Get that fucking picture off of there before I stick the camera...", you know the rest.
I was surprised. I tip ok, hardly ever am messy and thought I was on her good side but apparently not because of the next chain of events.
Miss Susan pretended to threaten me with a full pitcher of tea. I say pretended because I did't think she would really do it.
Neither of us were apparently good with physics in high school because when the pitcher is at 40 degrees, the glass stops, but all of the tea does not and I am told that is because of the physics.
As I laugh, my head goes down and the tea covers me but the bulk continued onward to land on another young lady who was cleaning the table behind us. She did look kind of fetching with the tea dripping from her, but none of us commented on that at the moment.
Now Susan reached for the camera as I took it away from her and she winds up on the table, wrestling with a 63 year old man [me]. Bill starts laughing uncontrollably and loudly.
I am not sure what this looked like but another customer, who was either State Police or a part of the YMCA tribute group came over to check it out. The difference was he did have a gun.
When order was restored [the crowd was rowdy] the place emptied quickly and they were left with an empty restaurant at 1 in the afternoon.
While the owner did not say anything, she stared, and stared at me. Susan was taken away to regroup, and Valery went for dry clothing.
Anyhow the move is over but I can find nothing. Bill is back in Hawaii and Mike and Mrs. Mike are off on what they do.
We were allowed to return to the restaurant with poinsettias, pounds of M&M's [the kind with W's on them], and a couple of well place gifts.
The kids are coming this week so we might want to get back in.
In light of the last few months, this was probably the most positive excitement I have had.
I am the inventor of
1. tetherball- tennis on a stick
2. 3 on 3 full contact tennis
3. full contact golf
4.free form basketball and hockey [ 4 -6 teams playing at once.]
5. a Spam slicer/ dicer
and the following drinks"
Tuna colada
Salmon Querida
Bass Bellini
Ice cream sushi
It is interesting to not plan anything and handle the day as it happens.
