I'm a newly-wed seminary student. I have also recently revived my love of artistic expression and production.
I have been painting for as long as I can remember, taking the occasional art class along the way and otherwise developing through trial and error. Creating art has always been somewhat of a cathartic experience for me on top of the occasional unbriddled attack on a canvas. I think that visual art for the most part, deserves to be subjectively approached, enjoyed for what it is, and that deeper understanding of artistic intention ought to lead to a deeper (or potentially diminished) appreciation only after the initial affect has taken its toll.
Because I believe this, it is difficult for me to say that any one of my pieces is laden with authourial intention and/or meaning, and have more often found it a rather ineffective course of action to try to convince others that my art is meaningful in the way that I think it is. I always enjoy criticism on some level, so comments are greatly appreciated.
With a show on the horizon, I hope to have new photos documenting of the productions involved therein. Hope you enjoy!
