So, year 2 with my Canon 400d, and I'm still very happy with it, although I'm starting to think my most recent lens purchase (see below) highlights some inadequacies with the camera - will keep a hold of it for now though...
I've been trying to restrict myself to 3 lenses, and at the moment am doing managing that; Canon 10-22mm f3.5-4.5, Canon 24-105mm f4L, plus my latest addition, a Canon 70-200mm f2.8L IS, with a 1.4x extender.
