I began with darkroom photography and moved into digital early. Having done a lot of automotive sports photography, I found myself gravitating to the back story-particularly the people. I learned "comfort zone" photography lead to a kind of myopia and partial blindness to essences of the subject so I began moving into subjects I was unfamiliar with. That is when the creative process clicked. I have been fortunate to feel comfortable with virtually any setting, prefer a journalistic "this is real" vision, and have developed a portfolio of performance and candid photography that works for me and the subjects. I am open to new settings and approaches and enjoy the collaborative process where we explore ideas fearlessly. Candid style photography, in studio or out is my forte. I am located on the Monterey Peninsula in California. I am available for studio or location shoots at competitve rates.
