Mike Berard is a Whistler-based writer and photographer originally hailing from the soggy singletrack and cold swell of Vancouver Island.

With a varied backlog of knowledge on everything from music to sports to pop culture, Berard offers a wealth of writing experience to meet client’s needs. A unique perspective, honed from travel, experience and a natural curiosity, is a perfect fit for the diverse demands of this business.

As a writer for magazines such as Powder, UP!, Avenue, Ski Canada, Mountain Biking and SBC SKIER, Berard has traveled extensively throughout North America as well as internationally. Whether it’s interviewing eclectic musicians (such as Australia’s Xavier Rudd) or exposing the sad state of Cuban all-inclusive resorts, he offers entertaining copy and informed viewpoints while never shying away from the controversial.

Recent trips have taken Berard to Switzerland, Japan, New Zealand and the Caribbean; future trips home and abroad are sure to keep him on his toes and delivering the goods. As a graduate and former instructor at Western Academy of Photography, Berard offers professional images in addition to his writing talents.
