Hello, my name is Mike Alexander, a very enthusiastic, amateur photographer in Ottawa, Canada. My photographic interests are varied, from landscape to street to architecture to anything else I can point my camera at. I shoot both digital and film (but mostly digital) with my Canon EOS 5D Mark II, Canon EOS 7D, and Canon 10D (converted to IR).

Since 2004, I've been a technical assistant, helping a local photographer with weekend photography workshops. More recently (since 2006), I've been an assistant for the same photographer and his business partner on photography tours in the United States and Mexico. I'm also a volunteer photographer for the Sound of Light Fireworks Competition in Gatineau, Québec.

Any and all comments on my photos are welcome and appreciated, but comments offering honest opinions do more for my growth as a photographer than "nice shot". I promise, I will never be offended by constructive criticism, even if you tell me you hate my shot.

Comments that include big, ugly graphics (especially animated!) may be removed. I do appreciate the comments, but the graphics are a distraction.

Most of my photos have a Creative Commons License, but some are all rights reserved (usually photos of people). Please respect the license I have applied to each photo by not copying the photos that do not have a CC license.
