I was born in New York and now living in the Azores, nine volcanic islands in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, the last 20 years. Married with two children , I live and create 'jewels' on a 'quinta' (small farm) in the village of Rabo de Peixe , which literally means Fishtail.
Originally a fiber artist, In the last two years I have been turning to jewelry..I love to use the lava stone for the great contrast it has with semi-precious and precious stones and metals. My favorite pastime is hunting for antique and vintage jewelery/ parts to use in my creations..something about these long gone treasures that adds a meloncholy beauty to any piece. This is a slow learning process ..always evolving ..hopefully growing. At the present I am apprenticing with a local gold/silversmith to take my work to the next level.

My inspiration is of course first of all the Azores..
and Tolkien's Middle-earth, (Lord of the Rings)
William Morris and the Arts and Crafts Movement.

Often you may find Influences of the renaissance, gothic medieval, with a bit of steampunk and shabby chic styles in my work.
