I have been interested in photography since I was at school. My first 'real' camera was a Canon EOS 600 film camera, which I used on and off since around March 2000. Quite often, I would take great pictures, but never really understood how. This is still probably the case, although now I know what I am supposed to be doing ;-)

In October 2006 I bought my first digital - another Canon, this time, the 400D. This still serves me well, but in June 2008, I upgraded to the 40D.

Shooting digital has brought me into contact with many new forms of photography, from theatre and concerts to wildlife, portraits and landscapes. The best thing is you can experiment without having to send your film off before you can look at the results.

To anyone who enjoys photography, I would really recommend finding your local camera club, if you have not already. These are a great place to 'talk shop' and compare ideas and techniques, or compare your work with your peers.
