I am a hobbyist photographer nothing more, nothing less. I've always liked looking at and appreciating images as an art form and a form expression, but up until 2005 I didn't know what an f-stop was or what ISO meant. I had only used point and shoot cameras. In December 2005 I bought a Nikon D50 kit to take pictures of my new family (like so many people do) and took a digital imaging class to learn how to use it. I fell in love with how photography made me look at the world in a completely new and engaging way. I started out taking lots of snapshots and scenic landscapes, then went into an experimental phase when I got my D200 and had my second daughter. I recently got out of that (Aug. 2009) and just want to take pictures as often as work and family allow. I shoot for the experience and to learn. For me, photography is something that I enjoy doing. If people enjoy my images great, but ultimately this is my passion and escape.
