I have been into photography ever since I was a kid. In 1979 I got my first 35mm SLR -- Vivitar 220SL. Then, in the late 80's I made the leap to semi-professional and then in the 90's I was making a living as a part-time professional photographer. I used to shoot Nikon F3 and F4 and then got into 6x7 with my Mamiya RZ67, which I loved!

But once I got out of photography as a career, it was a bit too expensive as a hobby and I sold off all my gear.

So in 2008 I returned to photography and I've gone completely digital. I have worked hard to jump back into this with both feet. I have built a great, professional Canon system, along with a full Alien Bee studio strobe system. My Photoshop skills are improving all the time and I've made the leap to Lightroom 2 and now CS4. And, with my printer, I can shoot, light, post process, and print everything myself.

I have been away from photography far too long and in the little over a year since I started looking through the viewfinder again, I have found it to be even better than I remembered. It is at once a creative passion, and a bit of a meditation. Anyone who creates and is artistic understands the need -- A bit of existential heroin to ease the stress that reality places on us.

For those friends and associates I know in person, thank you for your support and encouragement. And for those I meet here, I hope we can enjoy our love for photography and get to know each other better as we share ideas.

I'm doing this in a semi-professional level, but strive to improve and I hope to make a living through photography in the near future.

I hope you all enjoy my photographs as I progress. Please remember any constructive Compliment or Criticism is welcome, as it all helps me grow and improve.

Peace,
Mike
