Update/News: 09/10/2010
Just in case you are wondering about the pictures popping up this weekend: I am part of the 2010 Road Blogger Tour, sponsored by Honda. Yes, that's right: We are getting 8 brand new Honda VFR1200F touring bikes, brand new Helmets by X-Lite and all kinds of awesome equipment. We will be traveling about 1500 miles within 36 hours, visiting other motorcycle bloggers, visiting some awesome Locations, pretty much it is going to be a big adventure. For the next 3 days, all Pictures that i am taking on my tour, are automatically published onto my Flickr.
If you want to read more about the Tour and see what we are doing out there, just visit road-blog.de
My Information
I've traveled around the world quite a bit. I grew up and lived in Schwabach, Germany - then moved to Karlsruhe, Germany. I consider Karlsruhe my "Hometown" and i am looking forward to live there again! I lived in France, came through Italy, traveled several countries and eventually moved to the US.
I take pictures just for the heck of it - like many others here. Night Photography is what i really like though. I think it t is a great way of showing things that would be unseen otherwise.
I just launched my night photography blog. Come on in, let me know what you think!
Oh, yes, i do sell prints! Find more information and order on my website.
What's new? Up to date information about shows and exhibitions is available here.

Why Night photography? What's the point of going out at night and pointing lights and colors on stuff?
Well, thank's for asking! I am pretty much trying to show the "soul" of the objects i am taking pictures of. I mostly shoot abandoned, forgotten or retired stuff. Old cars or gas stations, junk yards, old signs... Things that are no longer in use, most of them just forgotten and left somewhere. With my night pictures i try to show what is left of these places and things. I imaging them sitting next to the road or hidden behind bushes. At daylight, those things are just that - abandoned things. At night, when mankind goes to sleep and the busy world slows down, i can show their "soul". I can show how these things are sitting next to the road, remembering their past. Thinking about old times when they were still in use. I am trying to show the emotions that these objects might have or that are connected to them.
I imagine these objects thinking about times long gone and i hope people are thinking about them too. Think about all the things that happened here. Think about all the good and bad memories that people associated with these things before they abandoned them. Think about why people abandoned them. Think about all the stories that are behind those objects...
I am trying to show a parallel dimension in which those objects might have a soul, have memories. I am trying to make them visible. Then, when the night ends and the sun comes up again, those objects go back to sleep, becoming rusty parts of junk again...
