Amateur (very amateur!) photographer, but keen to learn and make friends.
I used to be a nurse, but now work as a self employed PC technician, due to health reasons.

Ignore date and time info on the EXIF's on most of my photos.. I'm too damn lazy to set the dates on my camera's most of the time!

At the moment I use a Samsung D75 as a "carry around" camera, and a Fuji 9500 as my "decent camera". I'm especially keen to talk to other Fuji 9500 users, for tips on getting the best out of the camera, as I haven't had it long, and don't seem to get on with it as well as I did my old Fuji S602.

Also keen to learn some of the Photoshop techniques, such as selective colouring, although I do prefer Paintshop Pro.

Particularly fond of macro photography, and keep striving to snap some decent shots.

Fan of heavy metal, science fiction, most notably Doctor Who, Star Trek (especially DS9!) and Stargate, huge film buff, and aspiring film reviewer, though in a completely non-professional capacity. I like the more cerebral films as a rule, and am particularly keen on foreign cinema. That said, I'm not averse to a spot of mindless action from time to time.. got to give the grey matter a rest once in a while! :)

I'm far too opinionated for my own good, I am vehemently against prejudice, racism, homophobia and the lack of understanding some people exhibit for their fellow men, and I'm not afraid to stand up for what I believe in.

As a (single) parent, I believe children are the most sacred gift there is, and there are quite a few photos of my Son AJ in my stream. It's taken me a while to post these, due to concerns about the obvious predatory element any photo site inevitably attracts. If I find any photos of my Son anywhere other than in my stream, without my express permission, I WILL pursue it fully, and will also have to set them to family & friends only. I hope this is just over cautiousness on my part, but my Son is my life, and I'll walk through hell to protect him!

Outside of my family, my hero is the late Mattie Stepanek, who I had the privilege of being in contact with, for a short time (too short...). He was the closest thing to an Angel I can imagine, intelligent, gentle and a visionary for a peaceful future. The world is a much sadder place since you left us Mat.. you've left a wonderful legacy of peace behind, both in your books and in our hearts and memories.
