Merritt Estate Winery was one of the first farm wineries organized in New York State after Governor Carey signed the Farm Winery Act of 1976, but the history of the Merritt Estate dates all the way back to the late 1800's. Back then, the original homestead belonged to the parents of Marguerite Merritt-Sample, which means Merritt Estate has been in the family since the late 19th Century!

We encourage you to visit your local liquor stores to check out their selection of Merritt wines. If there are none, or perhaps there are not enough, let us know!

The best way to describe myself... hmm... sweet and full bodied with a lot of character!

Make no mistake... I'm awesome 99% of the time. The other 1% is when my wine grows tartrates. This isn't my fault, sometimes it happens naturally.

Basically, people pretty much love everything I do! It is because of this that you will not find a "dump bucket" at our tasting stations at various events across the state. People just don't pour our wine out... its unthinkable! Cheers!
