Who knew that a large chocolate milkshake at McDonald’s (1,160) has more than double the calories of a Big Mac (560)? Few restaurants provide nutrition information at the point of ordering. As a result, we often get more calories, fat, and salt than we realize.
California, New York City, Philadelphia, Multnomah County (Portland), OR, and King County (Seattle), WA have all passed menu labeling laws that provide consumers with easy-to-read, easy-to-find nutrition information on menus and menu boards for foods sold at fast-food and other chain restaurants.
We have the right to know. Support menu labeling!
