"The camera doesn't make a bit of difference.
All of them can record what you are seeing.
But, you have to SEE." -Ernst Haas

I have recently acquired a Canon 1D MKIII. I don't know how I ever shot with anything else.

Lomography remains an obsession. I have Frogeye, a special edition pink Colorsplash, and an LC-A. I also love disposable cameras of any kind.

I love photography that is real -- simple and honest and entirely unpretentious. I believe that when you have captured a moment, you've created a true snapshot of life -- and that these are among the greatest masterpieces.

My passion for seeing the world is second only to capturing it through my viewfinder.

Stay tuned.

"Melsers talent is reflected in her diversity in not restricting herself to one simple style. If you take the time to look over her whole portfolio (and I really recommend that you do). You will see that she has the ability to not only capture a moment, but project an intense amount of emotion with her choice of angle, light even subject (See 'A Young Monk' ‘SouthChina 231’ ‘SouthChina 245’, ‘...and beyond’ ,’Primal’, ‘Emma’ ). Yet amongst the photo’s which are just bubbling with emotion she can deliver a ‘happy snap’ of her travels and seem to capture the mood, feel of the moment even though it’s a simple ‘holding arm out taking photo of us shot’. I work for an imaging company, the biggest imaging company in the world and I can say that she is able to achieve with her talent what we pay people allot of money to produce for us, (See well pretty much all of the Australia Set for examples)

It’s very easy to draw inspiration from her, yet it’s hard to take that inspiration and not turn it into ‘copy’."

"Maybe comparison is folly, but I marvel at Mel's deft approach to the craft at an age when I was still years away from picking up a camera. Her page is a tribute to life at its fullest, and it's communicated through a very sophisticated eye. Add the fact that she manages to get herself to very interesting places with camera in tow, and you'll see that this is a wonderful window on her very compelling world.

Of course, it doesn't hurt that she's a truly lovely young woman who doesn't mind appearing in her own frames now and then!"
