"Blue Melanistic - Bob Ottey, is a great flickr friend. He is many times the first to comment on my shots and he is gracious in those comments. Bob is a very prolific photographer with his main concentration being birds, which he shoots with the utmost quality and clarity. He has the best view from his kitchen window than anyone I know. It makes me jealous. I truly enjoy and look forward to his latest uploads. Keep up the good work my friend,
Randy"18th December, 2011

Aisling :0) Perked up again :) says:
"Two words, BOB ROCKS!!!!! Ah no, I've so much more to add! First off he has to be (sorry everyone) my favourite contact, I know, I know, its wrong to single someone out because feelings get hurt or else use a classic Father Ted line and say "but they ALL have lovely bottoms", ok Ive lost members of the audience now, apologies, where was I? Aha, Bob's garden, no doubt laced with many kilo's of nijer (how to spell?) seed and meal worms, my god if ever there was a haven/holiday spot for birds! (May I plug my 'billy bluetit investigates' video at this stage regarding Bobs garden as a bird holiday paradise....)
Bob is hilarious, his comments always make me smile and have on occassion laughed out loud (hate anocroyns lol) on the train, I may even have choked once to come to think of it! How he gets all those birds, bugs and mammals (ah remember those Pine martens that were on Explore?) is an amazing fate and Im sure its no accident (he is a living Dr. Doolittle obviously!!). I remember one day thinking I was great for getting a few pics on explore and being a nose I plugged Bobs name in (hence I found P.martens in those thousands of gems), wow, he has at least 20 million zillion which proves beyond a shadow of a doubt Bob is thee, and will be, the bestest Flickr contact ever!! I always look forward to getting Bobs comment everyday and I would really really miss it if I didnt get one from him (which has never happened!!!!).
And just to really hammer home how much I think of Bob well my sisters (who arent even on flickr!) Know about him and his comments!! If I post a pic and do be showing it to them one will always ask straight away what Bob said, mad!!!!
So there ya go, add him, appreciate him and be thankful ya found him, two words.... Bob ROCKS!!!!!"11th May, 2011

"Bob has been on my contact list for about six months and all I can say is that he is an inspiration. Obviously a great enthusiast for the natural world around him, he consistenly produces outstanding and stunning images of his local wildlife and personally I look forward to seeing his latest work.
Additionally he will always have a good constructive comment to make on other peoples work and must surely have one of the biggest collections of " faves" on Flickr!
Truly he should be on your contact list if you want to see what can be done through the kitchen window!"1st June, 2010

"Blue Melanistic (Bob) is one of the best flickr members.
He really plays an active part in the community of Flickr and can always rely on him to take the time to visit peoples work and comment which without, Flickr would be a very boring place.
Bob's photography is excellent and always look forward to seeing what new visitors he gets in his garden, not envious .. honest!"5th May, 2010
