I was really into photography in high school. I didn't know what I wanted to do after high school and I was contemplating going to college to become a photographer. But, during my senior year, someone broke into our home and stole ALL of my photography equipment, camera, lenses, flash, camera bag, everything (among other things). My whole arsenal gone, and of course we didn't have the money to replace everything. So, I kind of lost touch with pursuing it as a career. Now that I have been to college, got a real job, married the most wonderul man in the entire world, I now realize that taking photos is what I want to do with my life. I knew it back then, it just took a while to surface. Since realizing this, I bought another slr and have started taking photography classes at my local community college. I love it, I can't believe it took me so long to get back to doing what I truly love.

Looking for constructive criticism, and praise, but only if it is deserved. Once you start looking at your photos, you notice things about them after you look at them for a long time that other people won't always appreciate at first glance. So, I think it's important to know what other people think and to take their advice.
