My name is Rodolfo but you can call me "Jun" (my nickname) which is short for Junior. My family and friends call me by my nickname. Yes, I was named after my dad whose name is obviously the same as mine! I'm originally from the Philippines and I spent the first 25 summers of my life in this beautiful country in Southeast Asia. At the age of 25, I made a decision to work and move abroad hundreds of miles away from home, to England. I'm a biomedical scientist by profession specialised in medical microbiology and presently working as a full time microbiologist in one of the hospital laboratories in the Southwest of England.

About photography, I've always loved it and I can still remember my first camera, a point and shoot Sony DSC-P10. I bought this camera in 2003 when I had my first pay here in England. It cost me £294 knowing it was the best specced 5 megapixel camera at that time! I no longer have it, I gave it to my brother when I thought my skills and knowledge about photography needed more flexibility. That's when I decided to upgrade from a point and shoot camera to a digital SLR. In 2006, I bought the Sony a100 which is an amazing camera. I started taking pictures of birds, insects and flowers which I truly enjoyed!

A year after that, Sony launched their semi-pro DSLR, the a700. I couldn't resist not to buy it because for my needs, the a700 is the perfect camera for me. Then again, the old a100 went to the possession of my brother and bought myself the Sony a700. I've been using this camera for 4 years now and I'm still very impressed with the ergonomics. I hope, sometime in the future I will have enough money to set-up my own studio and upgrade my present camera.

A little bit more about me: I'm no extraordinary guy...I value and enjoy common things life has to offer. I'm not driven by money or career. What drives me is life itself, enjoying it to the fullest and to rediscover yourself as you trek the journey of life. For me, life is not about crossing finish lines but taking the time to stop and to look around to see what was created for you, the beauty that surrounds you.
