A little bit about me:
Born (1981) and raised in Cape Town, South Africa, I consider myself to be a fun loving person who is absolutely thrilled about photograpghy. At the age of 10, when all my friends wanted the latest skateboards for their birthday's I asked my father to buy me a camera for mine. Much to my delight my father honored my request and got me a small little point & shoot Fuji film (Digital was unknown back then) camera which I seriously loved. Not knowing anything about photograpghy, other than I found it appealing, I pointed and shot rolls of film on anything that moved or didn't move for that matter. Sadly I left the hobby due to ever increasing costs of film and developing. The flame, however, was rekindled in December 2006 when I decided to take a leap of faith and purchase the Canon 400D DSLR .... my favourite so-called "toy" of all time. It cost me a pretty penny of my savings, but it was definately worth it!

"Marc (MdV81) is one of the best photographers I've met on flickr. I enjoy all of his photography, but most of all I enjoy the support and friendship I've received from him.
I don't remember how I found flickr or when, but I do remember that Marc was the first person to really jump out and be a true friend. I'm pleased to call Marc a friend, though I've only known him on flickr, and only for a couple of months. He always has something friendly to say, and I look forward to his comments as he always very friendly.
Looking through his photographs, I can see how he has grown as a photographer. I can only imagine where his photography will go next.
