I was raised in a small suburb outside of Philadelphia, PA called Quakertown. I received my BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh in 2000 and remained in Pittsburgh for seven more years as I worked for Siemens designing and installing utility and industrial air and water pollution control systems. I met Meihua in Pittsburgh in 2006 as she was finishing her PhD in Biostatistics. After the wedding in June 2007 Meihua and I moved to Philly. She leads a team conducting brain cancer research at ACR and publishes articles several times a year. I work at GE Water as an Applications Engineer for Fuels & Combustion chemicals, additives which enhance the operation of coal, oil or biomass-fired boilers. I'm also enrolled in Temple University's MBA program where I hope to better understand our financial system and economy! We're proud of our accomplishments and careers helping people and the environment!

In spite of our strong math-and-science background we both share a love of art and music. I've enjoyed photography for many years, starting with a Pentax 35mm camera and moving through two point-and-shoot HP digitals. I was often disappointed with film, waiting for development only to find they didn't turn out the way I had hoped. The digitals were exciting, allowing me to quickly review (and delete!) and share the pictures via email, but I was limited by built-in zoom and image size. Later, I discovered more advanced cameras allowed the user to vary other parameters, such as shutter speed and aperture. My parents enjoyed photography, and my father always used an Olympus. We selected an Olympus EVOLT E-510 digital SLR which gives me many more features and considerably expanded available options. I am new to SLR's but enjoy practicing and learning these new features. I always carry the camera with me, waiting for an opportunity to capture a moment. I prefer not to use editing software on my files, instead presenting the image I captured at that moment to the best of my ability. I always upload reduced file sizes, so if you'd like a full-size photo please contact me!

Thank you for visiting, I hope you enjoy these photographs as much as I have enjoyed sharing them.
