Mdm Ang is one of the few clay miniature enthusiast in Singapore. She started this art 6 years ago after her retirement.
Her first encounter of the clay miniature was during her tour to Bangkok where she saw a lot of food miniature made by the local artists. Her interest went on and she took she lessons from the local teachers despite language barrier.
Once back to Singapore, she devoted her time and energy into making miniatures and constantly upgrading skills by reading related books and continuously experimenting of new techniques and materials. She is particularly interested to make traditional food stuffs into miniatures
She started to sell her creations via pushcarts at various shopping malls starting 2005 and due to her dedication and uniqueness of this art, she was invited by Channel 8 to film one episode of the documentary which subsequently aired in Sep 2007.
By Mar’2008, Mdm Ang finally set up her own little corner at SunShine Plaza 91 Bencoolen Street #01-75 where she started to teach the art of miniature making to fellow enthusiast as well as sell her new creations. Right now Mdm Ang is still actively trying to prefect this art and to come up with new creations every now and then
