After many attempts to explain to various people why I do photography at all, I have decided that the following piece from American Beauty is the best equivalent of artistic statement I could find:

I am based in St.Petersburg, Russia and take most of my pictures here; I do travel though, and while I am heavily attracted to portraiture, I photograph anything, from macro to landscape to concerts to equestrian sports - as long as I feel there's something truly special out there in front of me. In words of Robert Heinlein - specialization is for insects.

I am part of a small creative photography group named Straylight.

That goes for concert photos too - if you found yourself pictured as a member of audience, or as a partygoer somewhere, and would like a print, it's cheap and easy.
