People lose themselves in art, whether it is work on a painting, a play on stage, storytelling or a burlesque performance there's always that second where you catch something private and awe inspiring. Some of my photos will be edited from the raw files (no special effects or anything like that, just playing with color, saturations, and settings, the theoretical things you can adjust in camera) and others will be as shot.

I primarily shoot storytelling and burlesque. What I love about both is that they are at different ends of a spectrum where one tells a story using pretty much only words and voice and the other tells a story completely physically and rhythmically. Storytelling both, yet completely different.

You may notice a lot of photos of the same person from the same night and my reasoning (on here) is simple. A moment is just that: A moment. But what leads up to it and follows it are just as interesting and can be more so when taken as a series. The other reason is that artists want choice. Whether it is the ecdysiasts of burlesque or the tellers of tales, I am happy to have them use my photos in their portfolios, facebooks, myspaces, and other accounts for publicity (please do not sell or edit without my consent). It is both only fair and part of the standard burlesque photographers agreement I signed and believed in...
