My work has taken me from Afghan mountain villages and rural Haiti to universities and hospitals across the nation. In each setting, I use photography to tell the stories of people’s work and lives. In each, I strive to honor the people I photograph, the labor they devote themselves to and the worlds that they live in – be it a medical research lab at National Institutes of Health in Baltimore or the home of a former child soldier in northern Uganda.

Photographing and traveling in over 35 countries has taught me adaptability and flexibility on location. I have a passion for lifelong learning and enjoy photographing the classrooms, research and culture of college campuses. My healthcare photography emphasizes the human connection between caregiver and patient. I’m also drawn to the science and technology of medicine.

When not photographing, I enjoy playing outside, reading, cooking, and restoring a 100-year-old row house in Lancaster, Pa., where I live with my writer wife and our two young children.
