What's up everyone! My name is Matt Ginzel and I am a photography student from Kansas City, Missouri. I first picked up a camera when I was about 3 years old (of course it was just one of those plastic Fisher-Price cameras that you pull down on the lever and it changes from the Little Mermaid to Winnie the Poo), but since then, I knew I was destined to take pictures, haha.

The truth is, I first started taking pictures while I worked for my high school yearbook and webpage classes. We didn't have much for a photography program, so my best friend Jake and I basically self-taught ourselves how to use the original Canon Rebel. After a few years of not understanding much more than letting the camera do its thing in its Auto modes, I set the camera down for a bit.

After graduating, going through the crisis of not knowing what I truly wanted to focus on in school, and being completely frustrated with what life was tossing my direction, I decided that all of the unknowns were due to me needing to pick my camera back up.

So, over the past year, I've been shooting extensively. I have started a few projects that have me more motivated as a photographer and as a person than I have been in a long time. My plans for this next year or so of my life are to develop a base in the Kansas City area. I would like to be the photographer of the midwest, photographing musicians, engagements, seniors, and anyone who just wants their picture taken.
