I'm a big climber and mountain biker and, for years, it seemed only a matter of time before the spectacular sights would convince me to carry a camera. Armed with a Sony point and shoot, I took photos as a "bit on the side" for a couple of years before finally deciding to take the plunge and get an old Canon 300d. Armed with this, I've developed an interest in taking photos for the sake of it, but still prefer to be out taking shots of mountains.
