In Short
Software geek. Serious hobbyist photographer, and part-time artist. Been into photography since I was about 13 years old (a lot longer ago than I care to think about). Into drawing since I first held a crayon.


Photography
I've into photography for a long time. I left film when digital became affordable, but now have returned to film in a big way. I get as much of a charge out of the imaging qualities of film as I get out of using classic, fine, film equipment. I started back in 35mm, but have been shooting medium format almost exclusively once I tried it. I do my own B&W development and scanning, but use a lab for my occasional color work.

I produce photography related videos on YouTube.

I mainly use Apple Aperture in my digital workflow. I seldom use Photoshop, since Aperture offers so much functionality and convenience in one application. I'll occasionally use Nik tools such as Color/Silver Efex Pro.

Art
I started drawing and painting again in 2007. I've done a pretty good job keeping at it. Actually, I'm doing more of that now than actual photography. I do a lot of plein air sketching around Denver and Colorado.
