Left-Hand Art:

My right hand is out of commission from an injury. (possibly for good) I am learning to use my left hand...

It's difficult at first but I'm starting to get the hang of it. I think it makes a big difference when you have no choice. Perhaps the mind rejects any attempt at using the other hand when the 'correct' hand is working normally. But if it is out of commission, it seems as though your brain switches gears and adjust rather quickly to the unused hand. I never thought it was possible but when I saw my mothers absolutely beautiful portraits and still-life's 'After' her stroke, using her left hand... I was inspired to hope that I could do the same. Thanks Mom!! :)))

Most artists would agree that a daily dose of creativity is not only enjoyable but needed for our sanity! Or something like that! lol :) As an artist with a disability (I have secondary progressive MS) , art has become a way of expressing my heart and allowing me to 'breathe' as the illness steadily takes away a persons regular life. I find that the more it tries to put me into a box of confinement... my heart becomes even more creative as my inner self longs for 'voice'. I hope you can see and enjoy this 'voice' as it reaches for its own special expression. :)

Clay 'Paintings' :

Each clay 'painting' is made of 100% Polymer Clays! My 'Canvas' is Premo polymer clay (selected for its stiffer qualities) and my 'paints' are the softer, buttery clays of Sculpey III and Fimo soft.

Each clay 'painting' takes a lot of effort and is very difficult, but well worth it! As I complete each one, I get a wonderful euphoric high of satisfaction :)
