  "I came across David's photostream many months ago on my old page. I adored his work then and adore it now. He's a phenomenal nature photographer and could easily be seen in many nature magazines. He's that good. Since then, we have met at Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve and did some shooting, although we seemed to be more interested in getting to know one another rather than shooting anything. I'm sure we both missed many photo opps being so wrapped in talking and I very much enjoyed his company. He's so kind and caring, easy to get along with. He's the type of guy that makes you so comfortable that you feel as if you've known him for years and are talking with an old friend of many years. He's inspired me so much since meeting. His photography always leaves me in awe and I can only hope to aspire to be as good as he is. I adore you, David. You're an absolute doll and I very much look forward to our next meeting."

It was his diving pelican shots at Bolsa Chica which originally inspired me to upgrade my photography gear and get more serious about birding photography specifically. I recently had the unexpected pleasure of meeting him in person while at the San Joaquin Wildlife Sanctuary. He is a very friendly and personable individual. He loves to share his passion for photography and the outdoors. His wealth of knowledge comes in handy when I cannot identify a particular species of bird. If you ever get a chance to meet him, ask him what he likes to eat for breakfast. He will be more than happy to share his secrets for good health."
