I started uploading my photos onto Flickr so that I could share them with a wider group of people. Since then, I have noticed that many people freely link to my photos, or otherwise publish them on their own websites. This is generally not a problem for me, as long as I am given credit. If you want to use my photos for commercial purposes, I would appreciate an email. I am happy to license these photos, and have done so for free for non-profits. If you are making money off of anyone's photos (mine included), you should obtain a license.
By the way of full disclosure, I am an attorney practicing law in Washington DC.
