MarkEllis' photostream
|

I've been interested in photography and other arts from a young age. The advent of digital photography and editing fed into this and drew me to learn more about both. My photographic and image editing skills have been largely self-taught, leading me to develop my own way of recording what I see around me.
My first love is landscape photography, primarily of the Snowdonia National Park in North Wales, and I love to create panoramic shots to capture the stunning scenery in a way that does it justice. I'm also more than happy to turn my lens on anything I think I'm able to portray in a interesting and possibly different way.
My Flickr stream is therefore a mix of landscapes, panoramas, mono work, macros and random pieces of digital art so I hope there's something for everyone. If any particular styles or subjects are of interest, please check out my collections and sets.
Constructive comments and feedback are always welcome as they help me take onboard new ideas and ways of looking at photography, so please feel free to browse and leave your thoughts.
Thanks for visiting.

Kristin Moat says:
"Mark is the most creative photographer of whose work I have had the pleasure to watch develop over the last couple of years. The beautiful rolling landscapes to the cutting and inspirational digital art shows the diversity, imagination and flair that Mark shows both behind the lens and in front of the computer screen."

Hinfrance says:
"Mark has a modest but quite amazing talent. From his passionate landscapes and panoramas through to his enigmatic, imaginative and almost surreal digital manipulations, his work is always of the highest standard. A driven perfectionist in his photography, his work is original, often thought provoking, but always a joy to behold and. Looking through his photostream I feel sure you will share my enthusiasm for his marvellous photography and mastery of the digital darkroom. Enjoy."

Fusty Box says:
"In his landscapes Mark captures not only an image but the very essence of place. One can almost feel the sea breeze or smell an estuary at low tide, his panoramic images conjure the vast silence of the land.
Mark cleanly, sharply, captures the natural colour of land, sea, and sky. A photographer of great talent who will walk for miles to to put himself in the right place at the right time, taking time along the way to develop an understanding of his subject. His work is not good, it's breathtaking."17th September, 2009
