I enjoy taking pictures of flowers, landscapes, animals, and interesting objects. If I ever master good pictures of birds I will put them here. I also enjoy similar pictures taken by other people which is why I joined Flickr. To respect privacy of others I avoid putting personal pictures like myself, my family and friends in here. Exception are pets like our dog, Hummer. I love seeing pets on flickr, too!

I especially enjoy local pictures like where I used to live, where I went to school, and where I live now. I live in Northern Virginia although I was born in Texas, grew up in Georgia and my ancestral roots are in western North Carolina. I also like seeing new places in America and the world. Flickr is also a great place for the armchair (or shall I say computer?) traveler. I get to see the world through other people's pictures--and I thank them!

By now you probably noticed I also paint watercolors and oils. I use my own photos to paint--I do not like painting from other photos or paintings by other people because my spirit just isn't there. It has to be from my own. Please be assured I will not use your photo and if I ever do I will certainly ask you first. I will appreciate the same for my photos and paintings.
